Solar Credits

Thanks to the Government’s Solar Credits Scheme, anyone installing solar power could be eligible for financial assistance towards the cost of their system up to the first 1.5kW of capacity installed.

Under the scheme, homeowners earn solar credits in the form of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), which can then be traded. The amount each home earns is dependent on the amount of renewable energy generated by the system. For more information, visit the website of the Office of the Renewable Energy Generator – www.orer.gov.au/sgu/index.html

Then, once your solar power system from Nu Energy is installed, you immediately start saving on your energy bills by reducing the amount of electricity you need to draw from the grid.

Feed-In Tariffs

Better still, you could also be paid for the electricity your panels generate. Thanks to the system of feed-in tariffs (FIT), energy companies will pay you for excess kilowatts you feed back into the grid. Or, in some cases, you could even be paid for all the electricity you produce under a gross FIT scheme.

Rates of pay differ from state to state, as does the type of feed-in tariff system:

Net feed-in tariffs: You are paid for excess electricity generated on top of what your household uses.

Gross feed-in tariffs: You are paid for all electricity generated by your system.
